Heartbeat

The soft wind swirls through my bedroom window,

Carrying the damp ocean mist,

Over my body,

I feel my heart beating slowly,

Each beat,

Not moving towards,

Or moving away,

Each beat is simply here,

It is my final heartbeat that will carry me to death.

My past lovers are here,

Within my heart,

Is my heart large enough?

And now,

In this full of heartbeat bedroom,

I feel the memory of my heartbeat Pressing upon yours,

Our tender kisses pressed softly upon our lips,

Far from me,

My heartbeats faster,

I say to my heart,

“Beat loudly,

Call our wild, free hearts together again,

As one”…
