Illuminated

I don’t remember,

Choosing to traverse this steep cavern.

One foot lodged precariously on the slippery rock face,

The other foot dangling, feeling into the dark void for a foothold,

I don’t remember choosing to traverse even deeper into this penetrating dampness,

My hands grab this ridge of crumbling security,

I step onto this slippery nothingness,

I see demons heavily breathing their fire of initiation,

Along the walls of this cavern,

My remaining courage,

Is Fringed,

I release my deep moan,

Then,

What is this?

I feel harness, helmet and safety climbing ropes,

That have always been on me,

Amazed,

I am safe, am held.

I hear the deep voice from my heart,

“You cannot fall inwards,

Are always held,

You can only fall,

While climbing outward,

From your heart”…
