Into the recesses of this moment,

Unaware of what has already occurred,

Where I have been,

Or where I am going.

Her love,

The precious gift.

We sit together,

On the precipice of her fading memory,

And She grips my hand so tightly,

Letting me know,

Her awareness,

That it won’t be long.

My heart breaks,
