Shame
Shame, Shame, go away, come again no other day.
Heads lower,
Chests sink,
Creativity runs away,
As our power twists among the vines of shame.
Shame, who do you think you are,
Arriving without an invitation,
Taking over our culture with sludge that sticks to our ribs,
For lifetimes.
Do you not know that we came here,
To Make huge mistakes, to get angry, to feel confused,
And to often lose our way?
Shame,
Have you not noticed that we did not come here to be your hero, To make you feel better, to live up to your expectations,
To be who you think we should be,
I have an inkling that you are,
Trying to shame us into,
Fitting into your crazy cult of perfection?
Shame,
Are you not aware that we came here to,
Make silly messes, to try out strange, new things, to see what truly fits us?
Have you forgotten That we came here,
To make sloppy messes,
Then to Poke our heads out of our rubble and say,
“Well, I guess that was not for me”.
Do you know that we did not come here to,
Blindly follow the leader,
To live in secure cliques.
What if I were to say to you,
You should be ashamed of yourself!
So shame, if you dare,
Please sign up quickly,
for the free course,
“Imperfect, humorous, courageous, Crazy, real human love”.
And I promise that you will want to join us,
In our silly,
Oh so necessary,
Shameless follies…
