A Space Within All Of Us
There is a tender space within all of us,
That must be touched, That must be nurtured, that must be kept sacred.
That must be shared
This tender space has nothing to do with talent, intellect, abilities or skills,
Nothing to do with what is called beauty,
Nothing to do with social status, fame, success or financial standing.
This place within all of us,
Does not need a key to awaken.
And when this place within all of us,
Is touched, is shared,
Maple trees bend closer, hawk flies close, coyotes cry louder, dolphins leap higher, wild flowers open wider, ocean waves giggle…And when this space within all of us is shared,
humanity,
Dazzles…
Dolores,
In her three year old nakedness
Jumps high upon the small, round coffee table,
With shining eyes,
Dances in her wildness,
Wavy hair,
Following her natural bliss,
Singing her passionate song,
Looking directly into our eyes,
And then she turns quickly,
Prances off the table,
Glancing directly into her beloved dogs eyes,
Shouts,
With her three year old lisp,
“Ginger, dance with me!
Remember this space,
That bubbles our cells…
